Who is responsible

Retailyze is a brand of bdg. The controller for this survey is better decisions group GmbH, Mittelstraße 3 B, 12529 Schönefeld, Germany, email info@bdg.io.

What we store from the survey

Your answers, the language you used, whether you took part via the open link or a personal invitation, and the date of submission – no time of day.

We do not store your IP address, browser or device details with your answers, and we do not link your answers to your name or email address.

If you were invited

Your invitation link can be used once. Where we know them from our contact records, your sector and revenue band are pre-filled; you can change them.

We do not store which invitation belongs to which answers. The list of invitation links is deleted when the survey ends.

Cookies and browser storage

There is no tracking and no analytics on this survey.

If you were invited, a technically necessary cookie holds your invitation until you submit your answers (at most 14 days). After you submit, a second cookie remembers for one hour whether to show you the follow-up form. While you fill in the survey, your answers are kept in your browser's session storage so they are not lost if you reload the page; they are deleted when you submit or close the tab.

Server logs

Our web server logs requests to this survey without IP addresses: only the time, the requested page – never your invitation link – and the result. These logs contain no personal data.

Optional follow-up

If you agree to be contacted, we store your email address and your consent separately from your answers. We use it only to contact you about future Retailyze research, interviews or roundtables, and – if you also opted in – to send you Retailyze news. Legal basis: your consent, Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR. You can withdraw it at any time; we then delete your address.

To send these emails, we pass your address, your language and your consent to our contact management system, operated by bdg; if you opted in to news, you receive a confirmation email first. Thirty days after that hand-over, we delete your address from the survey database. In the contact management system it is kept until you withdraw your consent.

When you ask to be contacted, the Retailyze team receives an internal email with your email address, interest, language and news preference – never your survey answers. Recipients include employees of the bdg group in the United Kingdom who look after Retailyze marketing. The transfer to the United Kingdom is based on the European Commission's adequacy decision for the United Kingdom.

Reporting

Results are only published in aggregate. [X – whether open-text answers may be quoted without attribution.]

Service providers

Database: Supabase, hosted in the EU (Frankfurt). Web server: Hostinger, [X – location]. Email delivery: Mailgun (EU region). All process data on our behalf under a data processing agreement.

Your rights

You have the right to access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, objection and data portability, and to withdraw consent. Because survey answers are stored without any link to you, we cannot identify or delete individual answers after submission.
